Winter Retreat Week invites you into a series of nightly workshops designed to nourish body, heart, and spirit.
Winter Retreat
Week at Sacred Space
As winter settles in, Sacred Space Astoria becomes a sanctuary for slowing down, gathering close, and tending to what matters most. Winter Retreat Week invites you into a series of nightly workshops designed to nourish body, heart, and spirit—beginning with an evening in community over shared desserts, then unfolding into ritual, reflection, and deep rest.
Together we’ll welcome the Lunar New Year with a guided ritual for finding your word in the Year of the Horse, explore anchoring intention through ritual + connection, clear stress from the energetic body through chakra balancing, and close the week immersed in a grounding, restorative sound bath. This is a week to be held, to reconnect, and to step forward with clarity, courage, + ease.

Join us for a sweet treat and a community gathering to kick off Winter Retreat Week!
While we’re living through an epidemic of loneliness and isolation, our Community Meals are a reminder that we have the power and choice to be present in our communities.
The studio will host the space, table, chairs, treats, paper plates and napkins. In an effort to be eco-friendly, please bring your own set of silverware and water bottle.
The studio will open for setting up at 7:00pm with a plan to eat together starting at 7:45pm. The idea of a start time for the meal is to encourage conversation and community, remove any awkwardness in finding someone to chat with if you’re new, and receive the benefits of eating with others. You are more than welcome to come early and stay late to help with setup and clean up, as this is a community event and help from others is always welcome and deeply appreciated!
Registration is important so that we can ensure we have enough tables to seat everyone.

As the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Horse invite courage, movement, and renewal, this workshop offers a moment to pause and listen.
Rather than setting goals or resolutions, this workshop with Tenneille guides you toward a single, meaningful word to lead your year — one that reflects who you are becoming, not what you’re trying to fix.
Through grounding meditation, journaling, and intuitive creative expression, you’ll explore your inner landscape and allow your guiding word to emerge from the body, imagination, and felt sense. You’re also welcome to arrive with a word you’re already working with and use these practices to deepen your connection to it.
This workshop can be taken as a standalone Lunar New Year ritual or as the first in a two-part series that anchors your word through community, ritual, and neuroscience.
You’ll leave with:
• A clear or emerging guiding word
• Creative practices that reflect your intention
• A grounded, embodied sense of clarity and intuition based guidance
-
Intentions don’t fade because we forget them — they fade because we try to hold them alone.
This workshop with Tenneille explores how intention becomes sustainable when it’s witnessed, shared, and supported by community. Drawing on neuroscience and the concept of Kama Muta — the experience of being “moved by love” through connection — this workshop helps anchor your word in the nervous system, not just the mind.
You’ll design small, meaningful rituals to support your word throughout the year and participate in shared practices of reflection, writing, and witnessing.
This workshop stands alone or pairs beautifully with Listening for the Word.
You’ll leave with:
• Simple rituals to support your word all year
• A letter to yourself offering encouragement and guidance that will be snail-mailed to you later in the year
• A “When You Forget” note to another participant — and receive one in return — creating a web of mutual support and remembrance
• The felt experience of being held in your becoming
-
Join Kim for a physical + energetic practice to release stress. We’ll use simple repetitive movements to clear the chakras (energetic points in the body) and release held energy that is no longer serving you.
No previous yoga experience is necessary, though comfort with ~60 min of physical activity is recommended. Bringing heat to the body is a tool for transmuting and releasing energy
Please bring a yoga mat if you have one or plan to rent one of ours for $3.00.
Recommended attire is loose/comfortable athletic wear + a light layer for cool down.

Sound baths are a great way to dip your toes into the vast ocean of sound healing. Various sounds and vibrations are brought forth from a variety of instruments to instill a sense of deep calm and relaxation within all the layers of the physical and energetic bodies that will continue to ripple long after the session.
Nothing is required of you but your willingness to simply be present and absorb the rich textures and sensations that sound can provide, encouraging that which needs to be released to release and that which needs to be affirmed to rise to the surface.
We recommend bringing a yoga mat, though a limited number of mats are available for rent. Folding chairs and yoga props are available free of charge.
