Meet Iris

Iris Vazquez became dedicated to weaving her studies and artistry when she witnessed the healing cultivated through the co-creative spaces of practice and care. As a yoga teacher and NYS licensed massage therapist, she honors bodily autonomy, wholeness, and resilience. She cradles the truth that all bodies are deserving of a rooted, held space to yield in ease, awareness, and self-expression. Iris expresses a deep reverence for the healing work and opportunities rooted in the land, lineages, traditions, and teachers that have nourished this soul-led path.

Integrated Massage sessions bring focused bodywork to both the physical and energetic bodies in an individualized, therapeutic, and client-centered treatment. Therapeutic touch and tissue manipulation can offer support and effect change throughout all body levels and systems. (ie: tissues, muscles, & the nervous system) In a held space that emphasizes nervous system communication, presence, and deep body listening, sessions address areas of concern and discomfort with tools from both Eastern and Western practices. (ex: TCM’s 5 Element & Meridian Theory, Deep Tissue Massage, & Myofascial Release) Clients are invited to sense and explore their embodied journey through woven moments of ease, spaciousness, tissue and energy work, assisted stretches, and joint movements.

These sessions can address but are not limited to: stress-related responses, discomfort, and chronic conditions while promoting relaxation, ease, mobility, function, and wellness.

Integrated Massage

This style of massage has its roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Translated as “push-pull,” Tui Na utilizes different qualities of rhythmic contact and movement that cultivate either an invigorating or sedating effect. “Rhythmic contact and movement” describes various Tui Na-specific techniques (ex: Mo Fa, Gun Fa, Rou Fa) that build and distribute heat, roll tissues, and jostle body areas to restore flow and balance within the body.  These sessions are an efficient use of time that supports disharmonies within the body, elemental, and meridian systems and can also be a great addition to your existing asana or physical practices to support your body’s recovery and embodied release.
